Shiver me timbers, now that is a National Anthem

Forget Christina Aguilera forgetting the words.

Fans in stadiums around the United States should take notice of the Portland Timbers fan base. This rendition of the Star Spangled Banner gave me chills and I wish that some day I can be apart of an experience like that.

Luckily, I escaped the unfortunate block of television that is “The Bachelor,” and was able to catch some soccer action. Even though I’m not much of a soccer fan, I was thoroughly impressed with the Timbers’ fans.

Maybe if I find a “Genie in a Bottle”, I can wish for this experience to happen at every sporting event in the country.

New Baden Basketball a little lopsided?

Look at the latest Baden Basketball that the Nebraska high schools are using this season. I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about, it doesn’t look that lopsided. Click here to read the story on the issues the new Baden balls are causing this basketball season.

Get those red socks out of Burke’s laundry

Omaha Burke needs to find a new laundromat. Whoever were the wise guys that dropped a red sock in with Burke’s jerseys the other night is causing a lot of problems.

I would be infuriated if my white shirts, socks and unmentionables were transformed into pink panther threads.

Burke claims the uniform change was due to charity in an effort to protect the identity of the laundromat, but Columbus isn’t fooled.

The Discoverers want names and will continue to force the refs to hand out technical fouls until the culprit is identified.

It was nice of the Bulldogs to turn this into a charity event, but justice was served and it was handled swiftly. Well, maybe it took a half to pass judgement but justice was served none the less.

Curse you mystery laundromat for causing such a stir in the Nebraska prep basketball community, curse you and your red socks.

If your not sure what I’m talking about there has been a lot of talk about Omaha Burke’s pink jerseys that they wore against Columbus High on Tuesday night. Here is the original story and here is a reactionary story from Columbus’ superintendent.
